We’re creating the kind of place where one drink quietly turns into three.
Our Founding Lead Bartender is in place. Now we’re building the team around him.
We’re looking for Cocktail Servers who genuinely enjoy people, notice the little things, and understand that great service should feel effortless to the guest.
Someone who can read a table.
Someone who knows when to check in and when to give people space.
Someone who remembers what you were drinking before you have to ask.
Most importantly, we’re looking for people who believe hospitality isn’t simply taking an order. It’s making someone feel genuinely looked after.
About Rathskellar 1854
Rathskellar 1854 is more than a cocktail bar.
It’s a place built around conversation, craftsmanship, and connection.
Inspired by the history of The Grove Hotel and the tradition of hidden cellar taverns, Rathskellar blends timeless hospitality with a fresh perspective. Every detail has been intentionally considered, from the atmosphere and music to the cocktails and guest experience.
We’re not trying to be the busiest room in town. We’re working to become one of the most memorable.
The Opportunity
As a Cocktail Server at Rathskellar 1854, you’ll work alongside our Founding Lead Bartender, bartenders and culinary team to create a guest experience that feels warm, polished and completely natural.
Rathskellar is an intimate, seated cocktail lounge, so this isn’t traditional high-volume restaurant service. You’ll welcome guests, guide them through our cocktail and food menus, take and deliver orders, maintain thoughtful water service, clear and reset tables, and keep an eye on the room so guests are cared for without ever feeling hovered over.
You’ll learn our cocktails, spirits, wine, beer and food program so you can answer questions, make thoughtful recommendations and help guests discover something they might love.
Experience is an asset, but we’re equally interested in personality, curiosity and genuine hospitality. We can teach you our menu and our service standards. You need to bring the warmth, awareness and desire to look after people.

- Memorable guest experiences that keep people coming back
- Warm, polished and attentive table service
- Thoughtful water service and beautifully maintained tables
- Strong knowledge of our cocktail, spirits, wine, beer and food programs
- A service style that anticipates what guests need without hovering
- Smooth communication between the floor, bar and culinary team
- Clean, organized and consistently reset guest spaces
- A welcoming atmosphere that feels elevated without ever feeling stuffy
- The personality and culture of Rathskellar from day one
Who You Are
You might be the perfect fit if you:
- You genuinely enjoy talking to and looking after people
- You’re warm, confident and comfortable interacting with different personalities
- You pay attention to what’s happening around you
- You can read a room and recognize when a guest needs something
- You stay calm, organized and friendly when things get busy
- You’re curious and willing to learn about cocktails, spirits, wine, beer and food
- You’re comfortable making recommendations once you’ve learned the menu
- You’re dependable, accountable and work well as part of a small team
- You’re available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- You hold a valid Smart Serve certification
Attitude, curiosity, and a genuine passion for hospitality matter just as much.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Previous serving or hospitality experience
- Experience in a cocktail bar, upscale restaurant, winery, hotel or similar environment
- Knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer or spirits
- Wine, beer or spirits education or certifications
- Experience opening a new restaurant or bar
